COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Some HVAC technicians are working double shifts to keep up with the demand from this dangerous heat.
Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell spoke with a technician who says his customers are sitting inside their cars with the A/C on blast as she works to get cool air back into their homes.

“Every day we’re working from sunup to sundown,” said Trey Fleming with Top Notch Home Services.
On some of the hottest days of the year, homeowners are dealing with a common problem.
“I feel for them, because I know that it’s so hot right now,” Fleming said.
Fleming told Newell that his company gets around 30 calls a day. He says he is responding to every call like it’s an emergency.
“Some people have small kids. People have asthma.”

Right now, freon leaks are common. Fleming says they are often caused by wear and tear.
“With the cost of Freon rising that’s becoming a more expensive repair.”
It’s a cost that Fleming says homeowners cane easily avoid.
“Preventative maintenance that helps out a lot too because if there’s things we can before it gets real hot than it can help.”
