ATLANTA, Ga. — Memorial Day travel in full swing, despite record high gas prices.

AAA predicts 40 million people will travel over the holiday weekend, and many of them will be passing through metro Atlanta.

Hartsfield-Jackson alone is predicting more than two million passengers during the busy holiday weekend.

If you have a flight booked, expect long lines and possibly some trouble finding a parking spot.

Channel 2 Anchor Jorge Estevez talked to airport leaders, who say they are ready for the upcoming holiday, but they want to make sure travelers are too, especially now that parking is an issue at the airport.

Airport managers say the busiest travel days will be next Thursday and Friday and the busiest time will be any morning flight.

With so many people traveling, parking will be at a premium. Here’s a link to the map, to find out which lots are full before you head to the airport. Keep in mind, construction is going on in the south terminal lot, so fewer spaces are available.

It’s not just the airport that will be busy, millions of families are going to be out on the roads on Memorial Day weekend. The WSB Traffic Center says you can expect I-75 and other major interstates to fill up by 11am a-m the Friday before Memorial Day.

If you plan on traveling north, Triple Team Traffic says to watch out for the stretch of I-75 between Carterville and Marietta.
