Police tanker, 20+ officers swarm metro neighborhood during SWAT standoff

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police ended an eight-hour SWAT team standoff in a neighborhood in DeKalb County Tuesday, and the suspected gunman is in custody.

Police said someone called 911 around 3 a.m. and reported a fight between a man and a woman who live on Rockknoll Drive in Conley.

A 31-year-old man was found in front of the house with a gun in his hand.

Officers said he would not drop it and he ended up running back into the house, so police called in the SWAT team.

The suspect’s mother got him on the phone and talked him into walking outside. After eight hours, the standoff finally ended.
