DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County is making recreation centers and libraries throughout the county available as cooling centers on Thursday due to high temperatures.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz says temperatures will range from the upper 90s into triple digits on Thursday.
The “feels like” temperature could hit or exceed 103 degrees.

The recreation centers and libraries will be available as cooling centers during regular business hours.
A room in each recreation center will be designated as a cooling center.
Water fountains will be accessible in both recreation centers and libraries.
The Clarkston Library is temporarily closed.
The DeKalb County Department of Human Services will also be available as a cooling center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. any time a heat advisory is issued.

Seniors needing assistance can call the Senior Link Line at (770) 322-2950 for an assessment of need.
People in DeKalb County who need homelessness assistance or housing services can contact DeKalb County Coordinated Entry by calling (404) 687-3500.
There will be free access to county swimming pools from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on days when heat advisories are issued.
