WSB-TV dominates early evening news in July

ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News wins every newscast, every day in July Sweeps.

The station gained over July 2012 in its 4:30 a.m., Noon, 6 and 11 p.m.

“The station grew its dominance over the competition this year compared to last July,” said Tim McVay, Channel 2 WSB-TV’s Vice President and General Manager. “The hard work, dedication and commitment of our entire station make Channel 2 the local news choice for Atlanta viewers.”

“July proved to be another very busy news month,” said Mike Dreaden, News Director. “The continuing rainy weather brought dangerous storm outbreaks causing falling trees, power outages and flooding. The wet weather fallout continues to mount with mold, mosquitoes and sink holes plaguing our viewers. And, as our reporter, Jeff Dore, learned first hand, the snake population has increased as well. We’re grateful that Jeff recovered from two bites to his hand and is back at work.

“Channel 2 Action News also focused a series of reports on childhood obesity during July. We revealed the continued growth of this health problem and how it affects so many Georgians. Anchors Jovita Moore, Justin Farmer, Fred Blankenship, Linda Stouffer, Erin Coleman and John Bachman each contributed important stories that showed viewers what must be done to turn the tide.”
