SMYRNA, Ga. — A natural gas leak shut down Windy Hill Road and forced evacuations in Cobb County early Tuesday morning.
Crews from Atlanta Gas Light capped the broken gas line on Windy Hill Road between South Cobb Drive and Atlanta Road, allowing the road to reopen about 8:30 a.m.
Firefighters and police evacuated about 120 people from homes and apartments in the area. Residents forced out of their homes were housed at the Smyrna Community Center.
