ATLANTA — The University of Georgia baseball team's Southeastern Conference home opener against LSU on Friday, March 25 will be televised live on WSB-TV, Channel 2 in high definition.
This is the latest addition to the 2011 Bulldogs television schedule, and the first game on WSB-TV, Channel 2. The first pitch is set for 7:30 p.m.
Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein reports from the field. Veteran sports announcer Chuck Dowdle will handle the play-by-play and former Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz will provide color commentary.
"We work hard every day to be the dominant community station and our exclusive UGA partnership provides us with another opportunity—to showcase Bulldogs baseball in primetime," said Bill Hoffman, WSB-TV vice president and general manager. "With Chuck Dowdle and John Smoltz in the booth and Zach Klein reporting from the field, viewers will see some great local college baseball with some first class commentary."
