LAKELAND, Fla. — Publix has issued a voluntary recall of its Publix Deli White American Cheese because the grocer believes that it may contain foreign material.
The recall was issued Friday for cheese sold from Oct. 3 to 11.
The grocer said the cheese was potentially sold in sub sandwiches and refrigerated cases located in the deli section of Publix stores.
"As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves," said Maria Brous, Publix media and community relations director. "Customers who have purchased the product in question or custom subs made with the product in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund."
Customers who have questions about the recall can call 1-800-242-1227 or visit www.publix.com, Brous said.
