ATLANTA — Sunday's storms caused a tree to crash onto a home in southeast Atlanta.

The tree took out power lines and left a large hole in the roof of a home on Lamon Avenue. Homeowner Elyse Wright told Channel 2's Erica Byfield she and her brother were inside the home, on different sides, when the tree fell.
"When I heard the crash, all I could do is call his name and find out where he was in the house," Wright said.
The tree crushed her brother's bedroom, but he made it out safely.
"He said that something told him not to go to his bedroom and to sit in the living room," said Wright.
The damage to their home was so bad that fire officials told them not to spend the night there. Wright told Byfield she knew the tree would fall.
"This tree is old, and evidently it had been hit by lightning and it had a split in it. And with all this rain and storm, you could see the split moving down the tree," she said.
The tree fell from her neighbor's yard. Wright learned crews were scheduled to take down the tree Monday.
"Yeah, and it happened today," Wright said on Sunday.
No one was injured.
