Sources: Burned Body Found Not Missing Dancer

ATLANTA,None — A metro Atlanta family is relieved to find out a body found outside Las Vegas is not their missing loved one.

Celeste Flores-Narvaez is skipping Christmas with her children and family in Smryna to search for her younger sister, Debbie, in Nevada.

Vegas dancer Debbie Flores-Narvaez has been missing for more than two weeks.

On Friday, Flores-Narvaez told Channel 2's Tony Thomas over the phone that has been desperately awaiting for any news at all.

Celeste Flores-Narvaez, of Cobb County, said she spent Christmas Eve dreading answering her phone. She was waiting to hear if Nevada authorities identified remains found along Lake Mead as her sister's.

Two hikers found the burned body along the side of a dirt road on the Arizona side of the large lake on Thursday, authorities said. Even though the body was found on federal land in another state, Las Vegas homicide detectives were handling the investigation. Sources told Thomas an autopsy revealed that the body was not the missing dancer.

Flores-Narvaez said she has been retracing her sister's last known steps around Las Vegas for the past week.

Debbie Florez Narvaez has been missing since Dec. 12 when she went to visit her ex-boyfriend. Two days later, she was absent from a performance of the burlesque show at the Luxor Hotel where she dances.

Sources told Thomas that investigators would like to have the case wrapped up "before Christmas." A news conference is scheduled to be held in the next few hours.
