GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A costly printing error has created confusion for thousands of property owners in Gwinnett County.
This week, commercial property owners began receiving property assessments. The problem is, they received the wrong ones.
Channel 2's Kerry Kavanaugh found out the mistake affects nearly 14,000 commercial property owners.
The assessments actually contain information about neighboring properties.
The Gwinnett County assessor's office has received roughly 4,000 calls about the mix up.
"They got the assessment for a neighbor," said chief appraiser Steve Pruitt.
Pruitt said his office wasn't aware of the mistake until the calls started pouring in. He said every single commercial property assessment went out wrong.
"We use a print vendor and there was an issue with lining up the correct owner name and mailing address with the correct property," Pruitt said.

Next week, property owners will get a new one with the right information and at the top it'll state "correction" in big bold letters. "All I know is the address is wrong," said business owner Hut Ballenger.
Ballenger got the assessment for 4050 Lawrenceville Highway. His address is 4060.
Pruitt said the printing vendor has agreed to fix the mistake at no additional cost to the county or taxpayers.
County officials said the mistake does not affect residential property owners. Those assessments will be in the mail on April 15.
