DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — New Birth Missionary Baptist Church filed court documents on Monday acknowledging Bishop Eddie Long traveled extensively with four young men, but the church refused to confirm or deny that Long had an inappropriate relationship with the men.
The church filed documents in DeKalb County State Supreme Court, one week after Long filed similar documents refuting the allegations.
The paperwork also included a response from LongFellows Academy, a mentoring program run by the Lithonia church.
Long admitted he did have a mentor relationship with Maurice Robinson, Anthony Flagg Spencer LeGrande and Jamal Parris in his papers.
He also admitted traveling on overnight trips with some of the men, buying them gifts and paying rent for some of their families.
The four men filed suit against Long in September accusing him of using coercing them into sexual relationships.
