SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are searching for two men who they say robbed a woman in her own garage as she headed to work.
Channel 2's north Fulton County bureau reporter Mike Petchenik learned about the incident while checking local police reports.
The robbery happened Thursday morning on Auden Trail, off Dalrymple Road. Police say the victim came out to get into her car about 7 a.m. and found two men crouching near it.
Police say one of the men grabbed the woman, put his hand over her mouth and pulled a gun. They took her purse, with her iPhone and iPad inside, and her car keys and took off.
"It's a safe neighborhood. It's unfortunate we've had a couple of circumstances, but we are fortunate to have a lot of evidence to go on. I'm hoping we'll have a very good conclusion to it," Sandy Springs police Capt. Steve Rose said.
An incident report says police were able to use the Find my iPhone app to track its location back to a potential suspect, but no arrests have been made.
