DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned a shooting ended with a crash and someone trapped under a car at a DeKalb County condominium complex.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on Rue Fountaine in Lithonia.
When Channel 2′s Matt Johnson arrived to the scene, he noticed a large police presence.
DeKalb County officials told Johnson at least three people were injured after the shooting led to a Jeep crashing into a condominium.
On Friday, Channel 2 Action News learned a woman who was inside her condo when the Jeep crashed into it will survive.
Janet Thomas’ son told Channel 2’s Tom Jones the white Jeep hit her bed and then hit his mother as she sat in a recliner.
Before that, other neighbors heard gunshots
Police say two men in the Jeep had been shot.
A 25-year-old man died later.
Khalil Winborn, 20, is stable.
Detectives got on the case and made three quick arrests.
Gary Davis, 20, faces murder and drug charges.
Lonzell Marsh and Jacob Gardner also face drug charges.
Neighbor Kendra Walton says the shooting is the last straw and she plans to move out.
“It could have been anyone of us that lives in this community,” she said.
Thomas is expected to be released from the hospital Saturday.
Her son told Jones she suffered light fractures to her legs.
