ATLANTA — Zeus was hours away from being euthanized at a kill shelter, when Atlanta Lab Rescue stepped up to bring him into their program. He was given to a foster home, who took him to Atlanta Dog Spa on Edgehill Avenue in Midtown Atlanta for the day.
Somehow, the black Labrador jumped the fence while playing outside in the yard of the spa.
He has not been seen since April 5.
The lab rescue maintains hope, as several sightings have been reported in the area in the days and months since his disappearance.
The most recent sighting was Monday, May 4.
According to Atlanta Lab Rescue's Facebook page:
"Monday there was a sighting of our lost dog, Zeus on the corner of Chattahoochee and Ellsworth Industrial where they are building the new golf driving range. The description seems credible and he appeared very thin and tired. He has heartworms and we're concerned for his health. We've spent many volunteer hours looking for him and even hired The Pet Detective to bring in tracking dogs when he first went missing. This sighting confirms that he's still out there in the same general area and we're asking for volunteers to go over there and see if they can get spot him and try to lure him with food. He's a friendly dog and should be getting hungry enough to come to someone if they are still and patient."
Anyone with information on Zeus’s whereabouts or has a sighting of the dog is asked to contact Atlanta Lab Rescue.
