Family of missing Indiana woman, officers canvassing Johns Creek neighborhoods

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. — The family of a missing lawyer who could be in metro Atlanta wants answers and flew here to find her.

Ciera Breland was reported missing by her husband in Indiana, but she was last seen in north Fulton County.

A large group of family members and friends of Breland met with Johns Creek police then took to the pavement.

They went from door to door in specific neighborhoods off Medlock Bridge Road, close to where Breland, 31, was last seen at her in-laws’ home.

Police used cellphone tracking and cameras in the area to find out where she was until around 7:15 p.m. Feb. 24.

Two days later, her husband, Xavier, reported her missing in Indiana, saying she drove back with him and their infant son then walked away from their home in the cold.

Breland’s best friend, Shelby, said she would never leave her 5-month-old baby, calling her a “spitfire” standing only 5 feet tall but with a huge personality.

“For her and go and not call anybody and to just walk away is unfathomable. She would never,” she said.

Breland’s husband is now being called a “person of interest” in her disappearance and is in jail on an unrelated stalking charge.

While canvassing, Jeannie Bush, Breland’s aunt, made an emotional plea from her family.

“We need her home. We miss her. Ciera, if you’re listening, we love you, we miss you and we’ll never stop searching until we find you,” she said.

Anyone who saw Breland in Johns Creek or driving her 2017 white Volkswagen SUV s urged to come forward.

Police in Carmel, Indiana, are leading the investigation with help from Johns Creek as well the GBI and FBI now assisting.

Anyone with information should call Johns Creek police at their tip line: 678-474-1610. There’s also a $10,000 reward.
