FAIRBURN, Ga. — Police say they are searching for a man they believe is behind a crime spree that started with the theft of a car.
Channel 2's Liz Artz obtained surveillance video from a Fairburn CVS pharmacy that shows the man robbing the store off Hudson Plaza.
According to an incident report, the thief paid for three items and then grabbed the right side of his waistband as if he had a gun. He then demanded the employee put all the money from the cash register into a bag.
That incident happened on March 5. Police say his spree started back in February at a southwest Atlanta home when he stole a 2010 red Toyota Yaris with the tag number PTK2037
Police say the car has been described by multiple witnesses as the get-away car in robberies from southwest Atlanta to Fairburn.
It even shows up in surveillance video from a robbery at a BP gas station.
"'Give me the money! Give me the money!' She gave all the single dollars she had in the tray. She gave out all the money," said store employee Johnson Odukoya.
Odukoya was not working that night, but watched the store's surveillance footage of the robbery. It showed a customer get robbed while standing in line.
"'Give me your wallet!' The guy was trying to get his wallet. He was shaking," Odukoya said.
Police say the suspect also robbed a woman waiting in a car at the gas pump at a Exxon gas station about a quarter of a mile from the BP.
Police are hoping the clear images of the robber's face will help catch him and put a stop his reign of terror.
"She was scared. She was in a panic, you know?" Odukoya said.
If you know anything about the crimes or the whereabouts of the stolen Yaris, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
