ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has obtained new numbers about how fast people are driving on metro Atlanta interstates since a speed limit increase.
Speed limits increased to 65 mph a year ago.
Georgia Department of Transportation studies confirmed increasing the speed limit 10 mph is not making drivers push 75 to 85 mph.
GDOT officials said drivers are just keeping up with the flow of traffic.
GDOT officials said they like the result of the 65 mph speed limit, seeing less range between the slowest and fastest drivers, which is safer.
