HALL COUNTY, Ga. — The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia announced Monday that a dog who was found on the side of the road tortured is now up for adoption.
“He’s waiting here for you and your family,” the spokesperson said in a video sent to Channel 2 Action News. “He’s just a big love bug and wants all the cuddles.”

Allison Mayfield, the CEO of HSNEGA, said Nelson the dog was found on the side of the road in early Nov. by a passerby.
When Nelson was found, a sensitive area had been zip-tied.

“I literally laid on the floor of my office with him for hours in tears,” Mayfield said. “People like you, and I could never imagine why someone would do this.”
After emergency surgery, officials confirmed that Nelson was ready to find his forever family.
