HALL COUNTY, Ga. — The Humane Society of Northeast Georgia started a fundraiser Sunday for an abused dog found on the side of the road.
Allison Mayfield, the CEO of HSNEGA, said Nelson the dog was found on the side of the road in early Nov. by a passerby.

When Nelson was found, a sensitive area had been zip-tied.
Nelson was rushed into emergency surgery and is now recovering.

“I literally laid on the floor of my office with him for hours in tears,” Mayfield said. “People like you, and I could never imagine why someone would do this.”
Mayfield said Nelson is now safe and looking for a foster home.
