STUNNING CONFESSION: Teens accused of murder claim to be 'Gangster Disciples'

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Two teens accused in a series of violent armed robberies and a murder in a quiet Gwinnett County neighborhood claim to be members of the “Gangster Disciples.”

Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Tony Thomas originally reported on the murder earlier this month.

The victim -- later identified as 21-year-old William Tunchez -- was found by a group of children.

Gwinnett County Police Det. Micah Hegwood said after Tunchez's body was found, he quickly zero'd in on three teens -- Franecha Torres, 17, Nicholas Evans, 17, and Khalil Miller, 18.

Police said the boys admitted to being there during the murder. They claimed Tunchez was lured to the site with the promises of having sex with Torres for $300.

Investigators said Miller talked first.

"When the victim entered the woodline, he saw Evans point the gun at the victim. The victim grabbed the barrel of the gun shifting side-to-side, fighting over it. And that's when it went off," Hegwood said.

Evans admitted to having the gun, but he also blamed Miller.

"He stated Khalil hit the victim over the head with a stick," Hegwood said.

Torres has yet to make any statements. She's been appointed a lawyer.
