FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — A student was taken into custody after a gun was found on the campus of Franklin County Middle School.

Deputies responded to the school on Wednesday after a student reported to a seventh grade teacher that another student had a gun.
The administration and SRO confiscated the gun from a book bag, authorities said.

There was no ammunition in the gun or on the student. The student was arrested.
Franklin County School District stated that everyone was safe and no other threats have been reported. The school was back to operating as normal. The district also thanked the students for quickly reporting the gun to their teacher.
In less than a month, Channel 2 has reported on six guns being found on five different school campuses.
