Macland Road has been shut down west of Highway 92 because of the fire.

Heavy smoke could be seen looming over homes in the area, leaving neighbors nervous about the fire spreading to their property.

Paulding County fire investigators said two homes and two detached garages have been destroyed.

The fire department said at least 20 cars were also on fire on the property, which includes a junkyard.
