CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A driver was taken into custody after leading troopers on a chase down a busy street in Clayton County.

Troopers activated lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop when the Tahoe drove off. After circling the Southlake Mall, the vehicle continued onto Mt. Zion Road, Old Dixie Highway, and 1st Street in Forest Park.

Troopers attempted a PIT maneuver as the Tahoe turned right onto Main Street. But the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle made contact with the passenger side of the Tahoe.

They regained control and continued driving south on Main Street.

While driving in a curve to the left, the Tahoe left the roadway hitting a fence and speed limit sign, crossing all lanes of Main Street as it spun counterclockwise, exiting the road, and hitting a tree with its passenger side.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle as it overturned and came to an uncontrolled rest on the east shoulder of Main Street.
