Downed tree blocks Whitlock Ave. in Marietta

MARIETTA, Ga. — Whitlock Avenue in Marietta is shut down due a downed tree that brought down power lines.

The road is closed at Brookwood Drive in both directions.

Drivers are advised to expect major delays and try to take an alternate route.

The Marietta Police Department said it did not expect the road to be cleaned up until 8 a.m., but the road remained closed past 8:30 a.m.
