DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. — Douglasville police say a man is dead following an early morning domestic dispute.
Police were called out to the Crestmark Apartments around 4 a.m. Friday.
The caller said a man had pointed a gun at a woman.
When police arrived at the complex, they found Carlos Jackson, 43, of Decatur, armed with a rifle in the breeze way of an apartment building.

That’s when the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Jackson pointed the gun at one of responding officers.
Investigators said an officer fired his handgun at the man, hitting him.
Jackson jumped from the second floor and then ran into the woods behind the apartment complex. He was later found dead.
No officers were injured during the incident.
The GBI said once its investigation is over with, it will be turned over to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for review.
