Woman’s burned body found on side of South Fulton County road, police say

CITY OF SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Police are investigating after a burned body was found on the side of a South Fulton County road early Friday morning.

City of South Fulton Police told Channel 2 Action News that the body was found on Jones Road near Campbellton Fairburn Road around 4:30 a.m.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the victim was a woman.

The remains were found under an overpass in a residential area.

The body had no identification and has been taken to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police are working to identify the victim.

Witnesses reported seeing multiple law enforcement vehicles on either side of a bridge near a small creek.
