DUNWOODY, Ga. — Dunwoody Police were able to rescue a man who got stuck inside a garbage truck early Friday morning.
Officers responded to reports of a man stuck inside a truck on Womack Road.

Officers got to the scene and discovered that a homeless man was trapped inside the truck after numerous dumpsters had been emptied into the truck on the trash route.

DeKalb County Fire Rescue was able to get the man out of the truck with just a few minor injuries. He told police that he was sleeping in a dumpster on Winters Chapel Road when the dumpster was emptied.
“The dumpster compacted each time after a load was picked up and luckily the male survived,” police said.

The man was taken to the hospital to be evaluated.
