Police: Man killed, woman grazed in head in DeKalb shooting

CLARKSTON, Ga. — Police are trying to identify a man shot and killed inside a DeKalb County condominium.

Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach first reported the shooting on Channel 2 Action News This Morning. He's since learned two other men are being questioned in the case.

A woman was also shot. DeKalb police say a bullet grazed her head and she should be OK. She led officers to the Parklane Condominiums across the street from Georgia State's Clarkston campus and Georgia Perimeter College around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Police say her boyfriend may have been trying to drive her to the hospital when they saw an ambulance parked outside Burger King on Memorial Drive at Interstate 285. They approached the paramedics seeking help.

Officers then went back to the scene and went inside the townhome to find Curtis Turner, 32, dead. Police took both men inside the home at the time of the shooting into custody.

“We believe one of these gentleman will be the shooter,” said Lt. Mark Lavine. “We're trying to find out the circumstances surrounding it. All these individuals may know each other. So we're trying to determine what actually transpired."

Investigators were at the scene for hours. So far, they have not charged either man.
