Mark Richt will become the next head coach of the Miami Hurricanes barring a last minute snag in negotiations, sources say.
Channel 2’s Zach Klein learned Wednesday that a deal between the former UGA head coach and the University of Miami is close to being completed, but there are still a lot of details to work out.
A source told Klein that Richt is the Canes No. 1 choice saying, “I think it gets done, but there are a lot of issues to be worked through.”
He said those issues include contract, staff payments, budget and more.

Richt attended and played football for the University of Miami in the early 1980’s.
After hearing the news, former Miami players began tweeting their support for Richt.
