Car smashes into the side of Newnan convenience store

NEWNAN, Ga. — A convenience store in Newnan now has a hole in the side of it after a woman told police her car just didn’t stop.

Officers say they were called to a BP station on Bullsboro Drive on Friday afternoon after a car drove into the side of it.

Video shared with Channel 2 Action News shows the blue Mazda almost fully inside the building. Crews were able to get the car out of the building, but it left some major damage behind.

Investigators say the woman pulled into a parking spot near the front doors and kept going until crashing into the building. They believe she may have mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes.
