NEWNAN, Ga. — Already dealing with tornado damage and people trying to clean up neighborhoods near downtown Newnan, officials dealt with another emergency Sunday morning.

City officials, fire/rescue and police personnel evacuated residents from an area in and around Calhoun St. and Robinson St. just southeast of downtown.
The have since given the all-clear and told residents they can return to their homes.

Several churches, businesses and homes are all located in the area, at this time we have no reports of any injuries.

Atlanta Gas Light responded to the call as well, they are assisting city workers with repairs.
Atlanta Gas Light is assisting first responders in the area surrounding Robinson Street and Calhoun Street in Newnan to safely secure the scene and make repairs to a gas main cut by contractors working on a project unrelated to Atlanta Gas Light.
