BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are warning that thieves are breaking into cars while people eat at local Cracker Barrel restaurants.
The Bartow County Sheriff's office says it's happening at locations along Interstate 75 in Cartersville and Adairsville. The most recent theft happened this past weekend.
Investigators say the crooks are targeting cars parked on the side or behind the restaurant.
"If at all possible try to park in front of the business. Think about where you can be seated so you can see your car," said Bartow County sheriff's official Johnathan White.
Investigators say the thieves have stolen around $7,000 worth of belongings.
