ATLANTA — A man is recovering after a massive tree fell on his car in a Northeast Atlanta neighborhood.
Channel 2’s Alison Mastrangelo went to the neighborhood along Wildwood Road NE on Sunday evening, where she found the massive tree covered in a thick layer of ice from this weekend’s storm.
I’m in NE Atlanta where a huge tree fell on a person inside a car. Police tell me the individual is okay, now it’s all about trying to clean up the tree and restore power. @wsbtv @BradNitzWSB pic.twitter.com/AVPV4iR60V

The tree fell around 2 p.m., just about the time the falling sleet turned back to rain, adding even more weight to the tree’s branches.
Police said the 56-year-old man is expected to be OK. He called 911 himself but was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
