ATLANTA — Due to the frigid weather conditions, the Atlanta Botanical Garden will be closed Tuesday.
The Botanical Garden said both their Midtown and Gainesville locations will remain closed on Tuesday due to the threat of inclement weather.
The latest Severe Weather Team 2 forecast shows a long duration freeze and a statewide emergency in Georgia.
Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency Monday afternoon ahead of the oncoming winter weather.
Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said temperatures dropped below freezing and wind chills started off in single digits Monday, with temperatures expected to stay near or below freezing for several days.
Dozens of counties are under a winter storm watch for Tuesday and temperatures are already frigid across Georgia. The governor’s state of emergency goes into effect immediately and will last until next Tuesday, Jan. 28.
