Firefighters immediately put ladders up and had mutual aid from the City of Atlanta Fire and Rescue.

One of the biggest reasons firefighters were not able to battle the blaze

“The owner of the building did come by earlier and that proved to be very beneficial because they did inform us there were some paint products inside, oxygen, propane tanks and propane operated fork lifts,” Lieutenant Eric Jackson said.

Lt. Jackson told Holloway that the fire was put out in about an hour.

There were no injuries, but several businesses were affected.

“There are approximately seven businesses in this strip area. All of the businesses to some extend have some smoke damage to them,” Lt. Jackson said.

Officials are still working to learn what caused the fire.
