ATLANTA — Channel 2 Action News has received a lot of requests on how people can help those affected by Wednesday's storms. Here are a couple of resources we have found.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is seeking donations. You can make a donation online by clicking here.
You can call the Red Cross at 404-876-3706 between 8:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays, or leave a message after hours. Your call will be returned the following business day.
You can also text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
If you want to make a donation by mail you can send a check or money order payable to the American Red Cross, Metro Atlanta Chapter and mail to:

Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is also assisting with damage. There are several ways you can donate.
By phone: Call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate "April 2011 Tornado Outbreak."
By text: Text "GIVE" to 80888.
By check: The Salvation Army Disaster Relief P.O. Box 100339, Atlanta, GA 30384-0339. Please designate "April 2011 Tornado Outbreak."

Pickens County Sheriff's Office
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office is collecting items for those affected by the storms.
They are looking for the following:
• Bottled Water
• Non-Perishable Food Items
• Toiletries
• Clothing of all types
• Bedding
• Tarps
These can be dropped off at the Sheriff's Office at 2985 Camp Road in Jasper. The phone number there is (706)-253-8900.
However, they are only asking for people who live in the area to bring donations. The sheriff's office said there are many emergency workers in the area and the traffic is making things very difficult.
They are asking if anyone wants to make a financial donation to please do so through the Red Cross.
Atlanta-area AAA Offices
Five Atlanta-area AAA Offices will be collecting donations for tornado victims starting Monday, May 2 - Thursday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
AAA secured a truck from local partner, Penske, to pick up the donated items on Friday, May 6, and deliver them to tornado victims in Catoosa, Rabun, and Dade counties.
They are looking for the following: • Canned/boxed food items • Bottled water • Baby supplies • Gloves
No clothing donations will be accepted at this point.

Hosea Feed the Hungry
Hosea Feed the Hungry is asking the Atlanta community to help provide critically-needed supplies that will be loaded into trucks and sent to the hardest hit areas.
Items needed include:
• Water and non-perishable food items
• Blankets
• Financial contributions, which can be easily made at www.hoseafeedthehungry.com
• Diapers
• Toiletry items
• Flash Light
• Cleaning Supplies (especially antibacterial items)
