Illegal drug activity in central GA leads to arrest of man, woman

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office say they executed multiple search warrants in areas of the county after receiving complaints about drug activity.

The results? Multiple arrests.

Sheriff’s deputies obtained warrants for the homes in question; one of the homes located on Strickland Loop was found with “quantities of methamphetamine and heroin.”

When police arrived, they found Jennifer Nicole Leach inside of the home. She was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, trafficking heroin and tampering with evidence.

According to jail records, she remains in the Monroe County Jail.

Officials also went to a home on Gilmore Road where they found marijuana, ecstasy, and other drug related objects.

Antonio Dmarko Shannon was arrested and charged with possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute ecstasy.

Jail records show Shannon was given a $15,000 bond and has been released from custody.
