CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga — One person was killed and another injured in a head-on collision in Cherokee County along Cumming Highway.
The Cherokee County sheriff's office said 29-year-old Joshua Goforth of Canton died Wednesday morning from injuries received in the collision.
The driver of the other vehicle, 38-year-old Laura Florey of Cumming, received minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Cumming Highway was shut down in both directions for about 2 hours as a result of the crash.
Authorities said preliminary indications are that Goforth's vehicle crossed the center line and struck Florey's vehicle head-on. An investigation continues.
