Georgia Capitol Museum “In November 1889 the General Assembly revived the Office of the State Geologist,” one of the signs in the museum states. “The legislation directed the state geologist to complete a survey of Georgia and to organize a museum. The exhibits would illustrate the state’s natural and economic resources. The collections grew quickly and spread throughout the building. Over the years the museum’s emphasis expanded as new displays joined the old, education generations of Georgia schoolchildren and other visitors.” (Nelson Hicks)

Moving on...Where am I?
It's home to what might be Elvis' toenail...
and some other odd Elvis items.
This is the Loudermilk Boarding House in Cornelia.
Joni Mabe created the Encyclopedia of Everything Elvis. What started as a college project has turned into a museum in north Georgia.
Elvis Toenail And it it includes some odd items like this toenail. It might be Elvis' because Mabe found it in the shag carpet while touring Graceland some time ago. Does it belong to Elvis? Well, maybe.
And what Elvis museum that truly showed everything Elvis would be complete without some tabloid articles?
And when we say everything Elvis, we do mean everything.
There's Elvis merchandise, too.
There are thousands of items to see. Years ago, she estimated she had 30,000 items. Now, she has no idea.
