Ashlyn Webb is an award-winning journalist who joined the WSB-TV team in July 2026. She is grateful to be reporting in the state she’s always called home. Before joining WSB-TV, Ashlyn was an investigative reporter at Cox Media Group sister station WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando, Florida. She covered some of Central Florida’s biggest stories, from high-profile criminal investigations and state politics to producing accountability journalism that prompted government investigations. Among her most significant investigations, Ashlyn uncovered leaked financial records revealing how the OnePULSE Foundation, the nonprofit established after the Pulse Nightclub tragedy, faced multimillion-dollar fundraising shortfalls before ultimately shutting down. The nonprofit received millions of dollars in government funds and private donations over its existence, but the nonprofit never built a memorial for the 49 lives lost. Ashlyn’s reporting earned a Regional Suncoast Emmy Award on the allegations and arrest of an elected Florida sheriff accused of using his office to help facilitate a $20 million illegal gambling enterprise. During Florida's devastating hurricane seasons, Ashlyn reported live from the front lines of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, documenting the widespread destruction in communities including Cedar Key, where residents faced catastrophic storm damage. Previously, Ashlyn was an investigative reporter and weekend evening anchor at 13WMAZ in Macon, Georgia. Her investigation into Norfolk Southern trains blocking railroad crossings revealed how emergency responders were delayed from reaching people during life-threatening emergencies, drawing national attention and raising broader questions about railroad safety and public accountability. Throughout her career, Ashlyn has built a reputation for investigative reporting that uncovers hidden problems, holds powerful institutions accountable, and drives meaningful change. Her work has earned multiple Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and a Regional Emmy Award. Ashlyn grew up in West Georgia and graduated from Carrollton High School. Ashlyn earned bachelor’s degrees with honors in Journalism and International Affairs from the University of Georgia. She launched her television news career while still a student, working on-air at WMAZ-TV during her senior year. Ashlyn is a dedicated advocate for First Amendment protections and government transparency. As former president of the Georgia Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, she worked alongside Georgia First Amendment Foundation, UGA Law School's First Amendment Clinic, and Georgia Public Safety Training Center to strengthen law enforcement training on journalists’ constitutional rights. When she’s not at work, Ashlyn enjoys hiking, exploring new restaurants, learning more about Georgia's rich history, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs with her husband and family. Go Dawgs!
