Top performances from Week 2 include Chubb's 5 TDs in 3 quarters

ATLANTA — One of the top-rated Georgia prospects in the Class of 2015 is Macon County’s Roquan Smith. Dooly County discovered why on Friday when Smith made six tackles in Dooly’s backfield as Macon County beat Class A’s No. 4 team 34-18.

Smith played middle linebacker, wide receiver and special teams.

“Roquan doesn’t like to come off the field,” Macon County coach Larry Harold said. “It’s still August in smoldering temperatures, and he gets mad if I make him rest after playing hard on the previous defensive series. The most amazing thing is he never takes a play off on any of his many duties.”

Smith is rated the No. 5 inside linebacker prospect nationally among juniors by 247Sports.

“In my 12 years of coaching, I’ve coached great players on the offensive or defensive side of the ball who have made it to the NFL, but Roquan Smith is the best pure athlete I’ve ever coached who can play on either side of the ball,” Harold said. “Scary thing is he’s going to get better as the season progresses, and he’s still only a junior.”
