ATLANTA — A winning Georgia Lottery instant ticket worth nearly $300,000 was sold in Hartwell. Max Saver, 17 Liberty Hill Church Road in Hartwell, sold a winning ticket worth $275,000 from the instant game EZ Grand.
The winner, Chaderick McCord of Hartwell, claimed his prize Feb. 27 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
