Widow Of Slain Wrestler Speaks Out

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga.,None — Lisa Long could barely contain her emotions as she spoke about her beloved husband, local wrestler Chris Long, after he was gunned down outside a strip club where he worked as a bouncer.

"Whoever did this: … I want you know, you didn't just take away some bouncer, you took away somebody who was part of this community," said Lisa Long.

DeKalb County police said Chris Long was gunned down after protecting a couple of women at the Shooter Alley strip club on Buford Highway after a few customers got out of hand early Sunday morning.

A representative for DeKalb police said Long kicked three people out of the club. A longtime friend of the wrestler said 30 minutes later, the same group came back and opened fire on Long, who goes by the nickname Solid.

Wrestler Shot, Killed Inside Strip Club

Long was a pro-wrestler who worked security at the club to earn extra money for his family, the friend said.

"I don't know if they came in … or wanted for him to come out, but they put a bullet in his head," said Long's friend, Frank Aldridge.

"These were cowards. We need to remember Chris. They need to be caught," said Chris Long's sister, Lori Hollingsworth.

Police said multiple shots were fired. A second person was also injured in the shooting, but his or her condition was not released.

Long had a wife and two children.

"It's a nightmare," said Chris Long's mother, Jessie Long.

Investigators said the search continues for the gunman.
