HOUSTON — The driver of an 18-wheeler transporting fruit was rescued early Sunday after the vehicle rolled over on a Houston freeway, authorities said.
The crash occurred on Beltway 8, known as the Sam Houston Parkway, at about 3 a.m. CDT, KTRK-TV reported.
Police said the tractor-trailer lost control and slammed into an outside wall of a toll plaza, according to the television station.

According to Precinct 4 constables, the driver of the 18-wheeler driver fell asleep and hit the tollbooth plaza before hitting the wall, KPRC-TV reported.
Deputies said the truck landed on its side and the driver was pinned down while fruit spilled onto the highway, according to the television station.
No injuries were reported, KTRK reported.
