Two months after exchanging their vows, former “The Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member Meghan King and President Joe Biden’s nephew, Cuffe Owens, have gone their separate ways.
In an Instagram story posted Monday morning, King called the breakup “profoundly devastating.”
“I am rattled,” she said in a slide posted as part of the story. “This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows – and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams.”
She asked for people to give her and her family “your grace and gentle kindness” as they deal with “this labyrinth of grief.”
An unidentified source told Page Six on Friday that King had told friends that she and Owens had broken up.
The couple tied the knot Oct. 11 in a small wedding held in Pennsylvania at the home of Owens’ parents. The president and first lady Jill Biden were among the guests in attendance. Cuffe Owens’ mother, Valerie Owens, is Joe Biden’s sister.

King, 37, and Cuffe Owens, 42, an attorney based in Los Angeles, wed after a whirlwind romance that began when the pair connected on a dating app, King told Brides.com in October.
“(We) texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” she told the website. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together.”
It was not immediately clear when the couple met. King announced in an Instagram post that the pair were dating in September.
King was previously married to former Major League Baseball player Jim Edmonds, with whom she shares three children: daughter Aspen, 5, and twin sons Hart and Hayes, both 3, according to People.
King was also previously married to Brad McDill, CNBC reported.
