Tymetrica Cohn, 45, was arrested on Friday after Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reportedly received a tip from Crime Stoppers about Cohn allegedly selling drugs to students, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief Jimmy Travis said in a news release.

The tip was reportedly made anonymously earlier in the week that a student purchased “edible marijuana,” from an employee at school. Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents began to investigate the complaint and eventually were able to identify Cohn as the alleged suspect, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said in its news release.

Tangipahoa Parish School System Superintendent Melissa Stilley released a statement as well on Friday, confirming Cohn’s arrest. Stilley said Friday afternoon, school officials and law enforcement were notified about the possible threat that a substitute cafeteria worker had allegedly been selling homemade baked goods laced with marijuana.

“The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to our school system,” Stilley said in the news release. “I want to commend this student who saw something and used the P3 app to bring this threat to the attention of our school officials and law enforcement.”

Cohn has been arrested and charged with a county of possession/distribution of CDS1 and a count of distribution of a CDS in a drug-free zone, according to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Cohn was reportedly a temporary cafeteria worker at Jewel M. Sumner High School, according to WAFB.

Cohn was hired by ESS which is a staffing service that is used to find substitute employees and place them in schools, according to WAFB.

The investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
