The searches, which were previously undisclosed, took place with the consent of the president’s legal team, a source told CNN.

The University of Delaware is the fourth location the FBI has searched for sensitive government records.

Materials from two university locations were collected on two different days, according to the Times. The materials did not appear to have classified markings but are being reviewed by the FBI, according to a source who asked not to be identified, CNN reported.

Both the White House and Molly Levinson, a spokeswoman for Biden’s personal attorney, declined to comment on the search and referred questions to the Department of Justice, The Washington Post.

The University of Delaware is Biden’s alma mater, and a collection of papers from the time he served in the Senate are housed there.

The collection fills 1,875 boxes in addition to 415 gigabytes of electronic records. It includes committee reports, drafts of legislation and correspondence, the Post reported.

It is unclear what part of the university was searched or where the records were found.

Last month, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Robert Hur as a special counsel to investigate Biden’s handling of government materials after classified documents were discovered in November at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington and at a family home in Wilmington, Delaware, on Jan. 21.

No new classified documents were found during a search of Biden’s vacation house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Feb. 1.

According to the Times, the general public cannot access the collection without Biden’s permission until the university has processed and archived all the materials.

Former President Donald Trump is also facing a special counsel investigation into classified documents taken to Mar-a-Lago, his residence and resort in Florida.

In addition, classified documents were found in the Indiana home of former Vice President Mike Pence. The FBI searched his home, as well.
