Award-winning entertainer Harry Connick Jr. is set to rev up race fans at the Kentucky Derby, when he sings the national anthem at Churchill Downs in Louisville next month.
The actor and jazzman is no stranger to horse racing, either. He use to hang out with his dad at the Fair Grounds Race Course in New Orleans, according to ABC News.
“My dad is a huge race fan,” he said.
“I have nice memories of going to the Fair Grounds with him.”
Connick Jr., a Grammy and Emmy award-winner performer, has sang the national anthem at the World Series and the Super Bowl, but this will be his first time singing the anthem at the Derby on May 6.
