Teen Drowning Victim Identified

FORSYTH, Ga. — Authorities have identified the body of a teenager who drowned in the Ocmulgee River in Monroe County.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office officials said the body of Christopher Wilder, 19, of Jones County, was pulled from the river early Sunday morning.

Allison Selman-Willis with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Wilder disappeared Saturday when he fell off an inner tube and tried to swim to a dock in the river.

Selman-Willis said the teen wasn't wearing a life preserver and could not swim.
